Winter in Florida
This year’s visit to my Florida studio was extended into April to allow me to help dismantle the Vibrant Arts Exhibition which ran for the month of March at Howl Gallery in Downtown Fort Myers.

Thomas Hall of Fort Myers Examiner, comparing my work to that of American icon Grant Wood:
“Similar concerns seem to be at play in Ford’s colorful landscapes. Ford not only wants his viewers to be able to count furrows, but the individual plants, flowers and blades of grass growing in his highly-textured fields. Trees don’t just rise organically from trunks rooted in the ground. They are sculpted into the foreground through a combination of thick impasto and deft brushwork. The straightforward style, textured surfaces and contrasting in-your-face colors all combine to infuse Ford’s TextureScapes with a vibrancy not experienced with purely representational works.”

Glass Class

Carol and I also enjoyed learning new glassmaking skills with our wonderful teacher of three years, Petra Kaiser, in her Fuse-it Studio in Cape Coral. Petra is coming to Scotland in September to offer workshops in several venues. More later….

Since returning to UK I have been busy preparing for a group exhibition in Monaco with Kings Road Gallery, which runs from June to September in the world’s second smallest country. I have also been busy working on a large commission which, when completed, will grace the walls of a villa on the Gold Coast in Australia; and meeting the demands of my galleries in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.
It’s not too late………….
…to visit the Spring Show of Small Paintings by top Scottish Artists at Kranenburg Fine Art in Oban where I have 9 small works on show.

Spring events at The Pier, Kilmun

Students from Life College supplied the wonderful music, the Murray family and chef Ian provided the delectable dishes and impeccable service and I mounted the art work for the Sixties Evening in April and the Jazz Night in May. Both events were much appreciated by the diners, art and music lovers who are enjoying the new ambience in the conservatory restaurant and throughout the newly refurbished guest house. Look out for more events and join the dining club which offers discounts and privileges.
You can see my work currently in:
Macgregor Fine Art, Glasgow
Greens and Blues, North Berwick
Kings Road Gallery, Chelsea
Krnaneburg Fine Art, Oban
